About the role

Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi is hiring a Manager for Home & Digital Health Services in the Outreach Administration Office. The role is based in Nairobi, Kenya. You will develop and scale home-based and digital healthcare services while growing patient volumes and revenue.

What you'll do

  • Lead Home Health and Digital Health Services, ensuring efficient operations, patient access, scheduling, care coordination and scalable models.
  • Develop and execute growth strategies to increase patient volumes, referrals, utilisation and revenue.
  • Identify new markets, patient segments, revenue opportunities and channels for service expansion.
  • Build relationships with physicians, corporates, employers, insurers, institutions and technology providers to create commercial opportunities.
  • Operationalise new technologies, coordinating pilots, implementation, adoption and scale-up into routine healthcare operations.
  • Lead development, business-case evaluation, piloting, launch and scaling of new home-based and digital healthcare services.
  • Establish quality and risk controls, ensuring compliance with organisational, regulatory, privacy and information-security requirements.
  • Develop and manage budgets, revenue targets, pricing models and monitor costs to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Design and improve patient-centred journeys using feedback, complaints and service data.
  • Develop and monitor dashboards and KPIs covering growth, revenue, digital adoption, productivity, patient experience, quality and safety.

What you need

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare management, Business Administration, Health Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Engineering, Operations, Technology Management or related field.
  • 7–10 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within healthcare.
  • At least 3–5 years' experience in a managerial, service-line, operations, business development, digital health or transformation role.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, service growth, partnership development or commercial management.
  • Proven experience developing business cases and launching, implementing or scaling new services or technologies.

Nice to have

  • A postgraduate qualification such as MBA, MHA, MPH or equivalent.

Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi (AKUH, N) is a private not-for-profit teaching hospital that provides tertiary and secondary level healthcare services. It is one of the hospitals in East Africa accredited by the Joint Commission International from USA. The University Hospital has been providing high-quality care for the people of East Africa and beyond for over 60 years.
The Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi Outreach Division is a rapidly growing network of 53 medical centers spread over East Africa. These medical centers feature three to five consulting rooms with a practice that is home to qualified medical officers, highly experienced nurses and constant reception cover. The clinics offer an on-site pharmacy and laboratory as well as radiology and sonography services. There is high expectation for staff to provide high-quality professional services.
Position Summary
The position holder will be responsible for developing and scaling services, growing patient volumes and revenue, building strategic partnerships, improving patient experience, and ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality and sustainable service delivery. A key focus of the role will be translating strategic digital and technology initiatives into practical, sustainable healthcare services—from pilot and implementation through to adoption, scale-up and ongoing operational management.
Responsibilities:

• Provide overall leadership for Home Health and Digital Health Services, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, effective patient access and scheduling, care coordination, service delivery, follow-up, and scalable operating models.

• Develop and execute growth strategies to increase patient volumes, referrals, utilization and revenue, while identifying new markets, patient segments, revenue opportunities and channels for service expansion.

• Build and manage relationships with physicians, corporates, employers, insurers/payers, institutions, technology providers and other strategic partners to create new referral, service and commercial opportunities.

• Operationalize new technologies and technology-enabled models of care, coordinating pilots, implementation, adoption and scale-up while ensuring solutions are effectively integrated into routine healthcare operations.

• Identify unmet patient and market needs and lead the development, business-case evaluation, piloting, launch and scaling of new home-based and digital healthcare services.

• Establish and maintain robust quality and risk controls, ensuring compliance with organizational standards, regulatory requirements and applicable digital health, privacy and information-security requirements.

• Develop and manage budgets, revenue and volume targets, pricing and commercial models, while monitoring costs, productivity, contribution and return on investment to ensure long-term financial sustainability.

• Design and continuously improve seamless, accessible and patient-centered journeys across home, digital and related healthcare services, using patient feedback, complaints and service data to drive improvement.

• Develop and monitor service dashboards and KPIs covering growth, revenue, utilization, digital adoption, productivity, patient experience, quality, safety and financial performance, using insights to identify opportunities and address operational gaps.

• Build and develop high-performing teams while fostering strong collaboration across clinical, operational, commercial, digital, IT, quality, risk, finance, marketing and other support functions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, Business Administration, Health Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Engineering, Operations, Technology Management or a related field.

• A postgraduate qualification such as MBA, MHA, MPH or equivalent is an advantage.

• 7–10 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within healthcare.
