ABOUT THE ROLE
The Kenya Veterinary Board is recruiting an Assistant Animal Health Technologist III. This is the entry and training grade for the cadre. You will work under the guidance of a senior officer and may be deployed in any of the following areas: Education and Training, Registration and Licensing, or Compliance (Directorates: Standards, Registration and Licensing; Education, Training and Technology; Compliance and Market Surveillance).
DUTIES BY AREA
Education and Training
- Receive application forms and requests, and check that the required documents are attached.
- Capture and record application information.
- Answer day-to-day enquiries on CPD matters.
- Receive and record documents submitted for the registration of animal health institutions.
- Help compile pre-registration examination applications.
- Receive and record internship documents.
- Receive continuous professional development (CPD) applications.
- Help with document management, including e-filing.
Registration and Licensing
- Check that the required application documents are attached.
- Review documents submitted for the registration of animal health institutions.
- Help compile pre-registration examination applications.
- Help with document management, including e-filing.
Compliance
- Receive complaints and enter them in the complaints register.
- Capture and record application information and inspection data.
- Answer day-to-day enquiries on compliance matters.
- Receive application forms and requests.
- Help prepare documents and materials for inspecting veterinary practices in private and public entities within the region, for licensing.
- Help prepare documents and materials for inspecting inputs and products of the animal resources industry, together with other stakeholders.
- Support enforcement of compliance with the VSVP Act 2011.
- Help with surveillance of technologies used in veterinary service delivery.
REQUIREMENTS
For appointment to this grade, you must have:
- A Diploma in Animal Health, Animal Health and Production, Animal Health and Range Management, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
- Registration with the Kenya Veterinary Board, in good standing.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
