About the role
Airtel Africa is hiring an Airtel Money Compliance Analyst in Kenya. You will report to the Risk and Compliance Manager. The role supports risk controls, regulatory compliance and internal policies for Airtel Money.
What you'll do
- Identify and assess risks for current and future Airtel Money activities, products, services and business relationships.
- Prepare regulatory compliance reports and Board and Senior Management reports.
- Conduct due diligence and enhanced due diligence reviews for customers, agents, partners and merchants.
- Monitor high-risk clients on an ongoing basis.
- Investigate flagged high-risk accounts and prepare Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
- Support suspicious transaction investigations and prepare Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) for the MLRO.
- Conduct ongoing transaction monitoring to identify suspicious activities.
- Assess, test and refine automated transaction monitoring thresholds.
- Support internal and external audits, provide audit artefacts and track issues to closure.
- Design and execute SQL queries to extract and analyse data for reviews and reporting.
What you need
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Economics, Risk, Law or a related field.
- 2 to 5 years of experience within a Fintech or Financial Services environment.
- Sound proficiency in SQL and Excel, with knowledge in Python.
- Strong knowledge of AML regulations, KYC requirements and financial crime prevention frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with AML monitoring systems, transaction monitoring tools and case management platforms.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong data analytics skills and understanding of the audit process.
- Good business acumen with strong communication, presentation and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

Reporting to the Risk and Compliance Manager, the role holder will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Risk and Compliance framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and strengthening risk controls across Airtel Money. The role will also support the implementation of internal policies aimed at mitigating risk and revenue loss.
